About Robert Lazau

Robert started Golden Boy Productions to tell the stories happening in his own backyard. From a disaster-preparedness campaign for the City of Fairview to a profile of the EMOPI program in Gresham and a spotlight on Hayes Hustle's work with kids and animals, his films center real people and the communities they serve.

He directs, produces, and shoots, so the person you meet on day one is the same person behind the camera and in the edit. That keeps every project personal, nimble, and true to the people in it.

"The best stories are the ones happening right around us."

Working Together

How Robert Works

Every project starts with a conversation. Robert wants to understand who you are, who you're trying to reach, and what you want them to feel, and then he builds the shoot around that. Whether it's a city PSA, a nonprofit spotlight, a website loop for a small business, or a fashion visual, the goal is the same: a film that sounds like you and looks like it belongs on the big screen.

The mark

The sun star

The Golden Boy Productions mark is a six-petal rosette, a sun symbol found throughout Romanian folk art. It is carved into the wooden gates of Maramureș, painted on household objects and stitched into traditional embroidery, where it has long stood for light and protection.

For Robert, it is a nod to his Romanian roots and to craft passed down by hand: the same care he tries to bring to every frame.
